Match the colour, flip the direction, empty your hand. Last Card is a free colour-matching card game for 2 to 6 players. Play with friends on one phone, online or vs computer, and be first to empty your hand.
How to play
Last Card is a fast colour-matching card game for 2 to 6 players. Everyone starts with seven cards. On your turn, play one card that matches the top of the discard pile by colour, number or symbol, or play a Wild. The first player to empty their hand wins.
Play with friends on one phone, switch seats to CPU to play vs computer, or play online on your own phones. On a shared phone a “Pass to …” screen appears before each player’s turn, so nobody sees anyone else’s hand. Online you only ever see your own cards.
Cards you can play lift up and the rest dim. Tap a card to play it, or slide along a crowded hand and let go on the card you want. Tap the draw pile to draw. On a keyboard, use the arrow keys and Space to play, D to draw, K to keep a drawn card and 1 to 4 to pick a colour.
Rules
The deck has 108 cards: red, yellow, green and blue, each with one 0, two of every number from 1 to 9, two Skips, two Reverses and two Draw Twos, plus four Wilds and four Wild Draw Fours.
- Skip: the next player loses their turn.
- Reverse: play changes direction and the arrows around the table flip. With two players it works like a Skip.
- Draw Two: the next player draws two and loses their turn. No stacking.
- Wild: choose the next colour.
- Wild Draw Four: choose a colour; the next player draws four and loses their turn. House rule: you may play it any time, even when you could follow the colour.
- Can’t or don’t want to play? Draw one card. If it fits you may play it straight away or keep it.
- When the draw pile runs out, the discard pile (except its top card) is shuffled into a new one.
- When someone is down to one card, a big LAST CARD! sign warns everyone (no penalty).
The first card: a random player deals and the player after them starts. A Wild Draw Four turned up goes back and the deck is reshuffled. A Skip or Draw Two hits the first player, a Reverse lets the dealer start with play running the other way, and a Wild means the first player may play any card.
Tips
- Save your Wilds for when you’re stuck or about to go out.
- Watch the card counts and hold a Skip or Draw Two for whoever is close to winning.
- Steer the colour: matching by number switches to the colour you hold most.
- Think before you Reverse. It hands the turn back to the player before you.
Easy to pick up
A round takes a few minutes. Every card colour has its own corner shape and every player has a shape on their avatar, so colour-blind players can follow along.
