One-button football with wobbly, bouncy players. Chaos Football is a free one button soccer game for 2 to 4 players on one phone or online. Spin, run and kick a bouncy ball into wide goals, or play the CPU.

How to play

Chaos Football is a tiny football match where every player has one button. Each footballer is a round, wobbly little player who spins slowly on the spot, with a white arrow showing where they face.

  • Hold your button and your player stops spinning and runs the way the arrow points.
  • Let go and they hop and dash forward. Touch the ball during that dash and you kick it. The longer you held the button, the harder the kick: a ring around your player shows the power and turns gold at full strength.
  • A quick tap next to the ball is a short poke.

So the whole game is timing: wait for the spin to point you at the ball, hold to run, and let go when the ball is in front of you and the goal is ahead.

On one phone, each player’s big button sits on their side of the screen, in their colour with their shape and name, and everyone presses at once. A finger that drifts off your button still counts. On a computer, use the keys shown on the buttons: A, L, Q and P. Playing alone against the computer, tap anywhere or press Space.

Online, everyone plays on their own phone from a shared room link, and the whole screen is your button.

Rules

  • Teams: two players play one against one. Three players play one against two, and the lone player is bigger, faster and kicks harder to make it fair. Four players play two against two.
  • Every kickoff starts with a 3, 2, 1 countdown, then the ball drops into the centre circle. Hold your button during the countdown to stop spinning and aim.
  • A goal counts when the whole ball crosses the line between the posts. There are no goalkeepers and the goals are wide.
  • The first team to the chosen number of goals wins: 3, 5 or 7 (5 by default).
  • There is also a two-minute clock. When it runs out, the team ahead wins. If the score is level, it is golden goal: the next goal wins and the goals slowly grow wider. If nobody scores within 75 seconds, it is a draw.
  • Players bounce off each other. One hit by someone mid-dash goes dizzy for a moment.

Tips

  • Do not chase the spin. Let it come round to you, then hold.
  • Get behind the ball before you shoot, so the goal is beyond it.
  • Running into the ball while you hold dribbles it gently. Save the long holds for shots.
  • In two against two, let one player hang back near your goal.
  • Watch the walls: the ball bounces off them, and a clearance can come straight back into your own net.

Why it’s fun

Nobody is ever fully in control, which is the point. Matches are short and full of own goals, dizzy players and lucky rebounds.
