Pick 1 to 6, dodge the bowler and chase the target. Hand Cricket is a free 2 to 4 player cricket game for one phone or online with friends. Pick a number, score runs, get the batter out and win the toss.
How to play
Hand Cricket is the playground game where two hands decide every ball. One player bats and the other bowls. On each ball you both secretly pick a number from 1 to 6 by tapping one of the big hand tiles.
- Different numbers: the batter scores the number they picked. Pick 6 and the tile shows a thumbs-up for a SIX!
- The same number: the batter is OUT!
Nothing is shown until both players have tapped. Your rival only sees that you are ready, then both hands pump twice and open together.
Every match starts with a toss. The second player calls odd or even, then you both throw a number. Add them up: if the total matches the call, the caller wins the toss, otherwise the other player does. The winner chooses to bat first and set a target, or bowl first and chase it.
Two players
A two-player game is a full match of two innings. On the setup screen choose the overs (1, 2, 3 or 5, six balls each) and the wickets (1, 2 or 3). The first innings ends when the overs run out or the wickets fall. In the second innings the scoreboard shows the target, the runs needed and the balls left. Pass the target and you win straight away. Fall short and the side batting first wins by the runs left over. Finish level and the match is tied.
On one phone the screen splits in two. The top half turns around for the player sitting opposite, and each half has its own 1 to 6 pad. Tapped tiles stay hidden, so lay the phone flat between you.
Three or four players
With more players it becomes a knockout. Every match is quick: one over, one wicket. Four players play two semi-finals and a final. With three, one player gets a bye straight to the final and meets the winner of the first match. A small bracket appears between matches. A tied knockout match goes to a super over, with the side that batted second batting first, until someone wins.
Online and against the computer
Choose Online with friends to share a room link and play on your own phones. Players not in the current match watch the hands open live. Any seat can be a CPU. The computer remembers your favourite numbers and repeats, but it never peeks at a pick you have already made.
Tips
- Don’t fall into a rhythm. Repeating the same number is the fastest way to get out, because the bowler is looking for exactly that.
- When chasing small totals, you only need a number at least as big as the runs left, so you have more safe choices.
- As the bowler, watch the batter’s last few numbers. Some players repeat, others never do.
Ten seconds to learn, and still tense on the last ball. Grab a friend and chase it down.
